PSYCHO-SOCIAL RESEARCH IN SPORTS AND EXERCISE (PRISE) WRITING RULES AND ARTICLE FORMAT

General rules

  1. The author(s) accepts that the work is original, has not been sent to another journal for publication, and has not been published before. They accept that they are responsible for the thoughts expressed in the study.
  2. Research articles must comply with the principles recommended for human and animal studies in the Declaration of Helsinki, and an ethics committee report must be present and sent digitally to the Dergipark system during submission.
  3. The scale, questionnaire, inventory, test, etc. used in the studies. All responsibility for obtaining permission from the owner for the use of measurement tools belongs to the authors.
  4. The author(s) of the studies to be sent to the journal are requested to digitally send the Publication Right Form, each of which has wet signature, to the Dergipark system. The publishing rights of the published articles belong to the Journal of Psycho-Social Research in Sports and Exercise (PRISE).
  5. Articles published in PRISE can only be cited by showing the source. Persons or organizations that quote and publish any distortions that may occur in the content of the article are liable before the law.
  6. All published research data must be kept by the researcher for five years. In accordance with both our publication policy and the rules of international broadcasting organizations, the data and analysis programs of the studies can be requested from the authors when deemed necessary.
  7. The editorial board can change the words it deems necessary in the article.
  8. The acceptance or rejection response to the articles may vary according to the review period of the scientific advisory board.
  9. No fee is paid for the articles published in PRISE.
  10. Studies that are not prepared in accordance with the general rules and article template will not be evaluated.

 

Article Writing Format

Studies to be sent to the journal should be in A4 page layout. Articles should be written in a single column. While making the page layout, 2,5 cm margin should be left from each side. The font should be “Times New Roman” and the texts should be arranged in a justify format using 12 font size and 1.5 line spacing. Page numbers should be at the bottom and center of the page. Page should not have header and footer. There should be two line spacing between headings. Tables should be in 9-11 points and single line spacing.

The article (including the title, abstract and references) should not exceed 25 pages. Turkish words should be used as much as possible in the studies. Studies; It should include the abstract, keywords, main text, author notes, correspondence address and references sections.

  1. Title: The title of the article should be written in 14-point, capital letters and left-justified, short and informative about the subject. The length of the Turkish title should not exceed 20 words. In articles written in Turkish, the English title should be placed under the Turkish title, and in the articles written in English, the Turkish title should be placed under the English title.
  2. Author Information: The full name of the author(s) should be written in lower case letters, surname in capital letters and left aligned. The full name of the institution where the author(s) works should be stated.

III. Abstract and keywords: It should be written in both languages, Turkish and English, under the headings ‘Abstract’ and ‘Abstract’, in a single paragraph not exceeding 250 words, justified. The summary section should include information about the purpose, participants or research group, data collection tools, procedure, analysis of the data, briefly findings and a brief conclusion. There should be ‘Keywords’ under the Turkish abstract and 3-5 keywords under the ‘Keywords’ heading under the English abstract.

  1. Main text: In research articles, the text should include introduction, method, findings, discussion, conclusion and recommendations, references, and appendices, if any. In compilation type articles, this order may not be followed according to the content of the article.
  • Introduction: It should cover the approach and findings in the literature and the purpose of the research regarding the research.
  • Method: Participants should be gathered under four headings, including the research group or sample, data collection tools, procedure method, and data analysis.
  • Findings: The values ​​(mean, standard deviation, etc.) used in testing the research hypotheses or in the statistical analysis of the problem/s should be included separately according to each variable. Tables and figures should be given in the text.
  • Discussion: It should include the explanation and discussion of the research findings in the light of the literature.
  • Conclusion and Suggestions: The results obtained from the research and suggestions for the future should be given briefly.
  • Author’s notes: If the research is a summary of a thesis work or if there is an institution(s) supporting the research, it should be stated in this section. In addition, the people whom the researcher would like to thank for their contributions to the research should also be indicated on this page.
  • Correspondence address: The address, telephone number, e-mail address and Orcid number where the author(s) can be contacted should be included in this section.
  • Information on the Ethics Committee Certificate: Information on the ethics committee certificate (name of the committee, date and number) should be included in this section.
  • References: References should be arranged in accordance with the APA format.
  • Appendices: When deemed appropriate by the author, they may include additional information such as the scales used in the research.
  • Tables: Tables must be in the text flow. Tables should be created in accordance with the APA format. The table can be prepared in 9-11 points according to its content. There should be no spaces between the lines in the table content.
  • Figures and Graphics: Figure titles and figures should be in the text flow Figures should be created in accordance with APA format.
